My four loves

So, I have four extracurricular loves in my life and I got to do one of them tonight and I get to do 2 more this weekend.  The fourth one is hard to fit in.  Tonight I got to play volleyball.  Our church team is not like your normal church team.  There are women on there that can play well and you can get some really good hits in.  Tonight I stayed a little bit longer and played with some more experienced players and I was in heaven.  I got this amazing set and hit it so hard.  To tell you the truth I was amazed that I jumped that high.  After 3 kids your vertical is not what it used to be...or your width for that matter.  Sometimes I think back to why I had to injure my knee but God in his wisdom wanted me on a different path and I'm pretty stubborn sometimes.  I'm just grateful that I'm well enough to still play.

Now my next 2 loves.  I get to sit down for Conference this weekend and crochet my little heart away.  I absolutely love crafting but never get the time so this is my time where I can sit for 4 hours and pretend I'm a little Grandma making blankets.  Also, conference weekend means FOOD!  I'm SOOOO looking forward to Jumbo Streusel-Topped Blueberry Muffins, Strawberry Cream Cheese Crepes, A new Quiche recipe, White chocolate Macadamia nut cookies and trying my hand at Southern cooking with Chicken Gumbo with Okra!  I'm so excited can you tell!!!  My husband keeps bugging me to open a sweets shop.  Uh, honey that would mean I would have to come up with original recipes.  Now my last love will have to wait.  I can't sit down and play the piano and sing without 2 little girls jumping in and helping.  I'm actually ordering books for Maryn to start teaching her.  Hopefully she can learn from me.  History hasn't been so kind.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!

4 months old

Little buddy guy had his 4 month appointment this past week.  And the doctor's words were priceless.  He said,"he is definitely not starving that is for sure" and "with as much as he moves it's amazing he has that many rolls".  Mason weighed in at 18.5 lbs and 26 inches long.  Doc said it was equivalent of a 9 month old.  My little(big) guy is growing leaps and bounds.  People keep asking me what I'm feeding that boy and I'm tempted to one time tell them I'm slipping steroids in his milk.  But I'll keep giving the same answer with just a smile.  Mason is an active boy his limbs and especially his hands are constantly going.  We hope he'll be mechanically inclined like his father.  He loves his mommy and sometimes is skeptical of his sisters but loves them at a distance too.  We love our Mason and couldn't imagine life without him.

My little M&M's...Macey, Maryn, Mason

Maryn and Macey for the most part have been pretty good since Matt has left. There is still the stealing toys away from each other even though the other person had not played with that particular toy in months but thinks they are entitled to it now. Still having to protect Mason Man. Macers drew blood from him the other day by using him as a farm while she plowed the tractor over his leg. Mason is getting into these giggling fits which are hilarious. Especially if you play and nibble on his double chin chubs. I sure love that little boy. While I was doing dishes he managed to push himself with his feet across the dining room floor into the wall.

Two things happened this week. One made me smile and the other one made me want to put my kid up for sale but I can laugh about it now.

Last week I asked Maryn to come upstairs so I could curl her hair for school. She has this little bit of a wave that makes her hair look messy all the time so the easy fix is to curl it. She kept fighting me and didn't want to do it and also tried to convince me that the teacher said it was okay to wear flip flops to school when I know it's school policy to NOT wear them. After I was halfway done with her hair Maryn stomped her foot and said, "if you're going to keep making my life miserable then I'm going to live with someone else!" I told her that I could arrange that.

Then today the thing that made me smile. I was dishing up the kids and I had made Taco Soup which Matty took the bag of tortilla chips that was supposed to go with the dinner the little stinker. Anyway, I went to dish up Macers and asked her if she wanted Taco Soup and she repeated it Taco "Poop".

Little to no time

I haven't had a lot of free time lately. I think of the day when I had one kid and I actually was able to get things done. Boy, was I naive to think it would always be that way. Maryn doesn't know how good she had it...at least I have pictures to prove that we did cool stuff. The thought of taking all three kids to the pool makes me shutter. Even the library for that matter. I have mastered grocery shopping though, which I'm very proud of myself.

This week is just me and the kids while my husband pretends he's a mountain man scaling the Uintah Mountain range and living off the land eating fish and berries. Well maybe not the berry's but definitely the fish. Day 1 went pretty well and Day 2 is off to a pretty good start. Had a pizza party with friend and her kids who is a work widow at the moment. Today, got breakfast made, kitchen clean, Maryn off to school, dinner made(yes I said dinner, I love crockpots!!) and started on the laundry.

Last night I was laying in bed staring at the ceiling and had the most random thought. Ya know in the doctor offices where they have all those old school scales. They can't be exactly accurate because you're relying the nurse to guesstimate where it's in between. And if she was in a bad mood that day who's to say that she wouldn't add another pound on to your weight. So, at my Midwife's office they have this new digital scale where it's pretty spot on. Why haven't the rest of the medical world upgraded yet? Just a thought!

Hope everyone has a fantabulous day!!! Off to play outside with Macers!

The BEST day ever!

On September 2nd my husband gave me the best birthday gift. He took the WHOLE day off and took over my day. So, this is kinda how my day went and my husband's:

Woke up to Waffles, eggs and turkey bacon made by hubby.

He got Maryn ready for school...and I drove because it's like a rat race dropping your kid off.

Came home hubby had done all the dishes, started the laundry, made all the beds, dressed Macers and Mason and was vaccuuming the whole house.

We attempted to tackle the kids closet putting away all the clothes that didn't fit and organized it.

I had a friend stop by just to chat.

Picked up Maryn from school Matt made the kids lunch then a good friend took the kids. (Thanks Als)

Matty took me to my favorite barbecue place Goodwood and then took me shopping for a saxey looking sweater.

Came home Matt crashed for a little bit from taking over my day while I watched an episode of Ghost Whisperer. Mom Murdock got me hooked.

Then Matt sent me to the temple to get my camera case. Got to sit in the temple for a while with peace and quiet then got to go down into the basement of the temple.

In the meanwhile Matty made fajitas with peppers freshly picked form the garden for dinner and baked and frosted a purple cake while trying to juggle the kids.

Matty got the kids dressed for bed and I read a book to Macers.

I felt a little guilty being waited on hand and foot but I got to say IT WAS NICE!!!! Now I'm recharged to take back my day. Thank you sweetie for the wonderful birthday gift!!!
