My niece went to prom a few weeks back and the theme was Alice in Wonderland. I wanted to do something fun for her because she looked so beautiful. It's a little dream world-ish and whimsical but so is Alice in Wonderland. Hopefully she'll like it.

Happy Birthday Buddy Guy!
Buddy had his birthday on Monday. I've been really busy and haven't had a lot of time to sit down so of course the pictures will come later. My little man turned 3. All week we were prepping him and said Mason you're turning 3 and he would reply, "No, I'm 2". Even after his birthday he's convinced that he's still 2. Mr. Mason has a contagious giggle. If he finds something funny he can not stop laughing and it makes you laugh. He calls cookies, tooey's and he has a blue blanket that he calls 'blay'. His favorite thing right now is Lightning McQueen and Mater. He is a car man just like his Daddy and will play for hours with his cars. Him and Macey are my silent destroyers. You know there is mischief a brewing if it is too silent in the house. His favorite thing to help me out with is when I sweep the floor he'll immediately go get the dust pan and will get mad if I try to do it for him. He loves techno dance night and loves his choo choo trains more. He is your typical boy that loves to snuggle with his mommy in the morning. He LOVES chocolate chips or any junk food for that matter. His favorite song at the moment is Baby Mine and he'll demand you sing it before you walk out of the room for the night. His Daddy is his best friend and he is Maryn's little minion. We love our Buddy and we should probably call him by his real name because if you ask him his name he'll tell you it's Buddy and correct you if you try to tell him otherwise.

At a Good Place
I was doing dishes today while the kids were playing outside...AH, YES SILENCE! And I had the thought that we were 'at a good place'. After I thought that I hesitated to think further on that because whenever I have had that feeling soon after our whole world is turned upside down and inside out. So I'm knocking, knocking, knocking on wood all around me. Yeh, I'm a bit superstitious. Granted being at a good place doesn't mean I'm absent of all my struggles, doesn't mean that I don't get frustrated, it doesn't mean that everything is roses and tulips but things are okay. For me to make that admission is huge because letting go is difficult. I think there are times where you struggle through some things and it comes to a point where you have to make peace with it. Accept things for what they are and move on. It's a hard thing to come to grips with at times to be able to move on from things or to be at peace.
We have made it our mission so to speak to have peace in our home. And sometimes in order to have peace in your home you have to gain peace with yourself. As you get older you realize how important having peace in your life becomes. And this might sound funny but you have to fight or work harder to have peace in your life. I can't tell you what that peace is...it's different for everyone. You have to figure out what that is in your life, grab it, take hold of it and guard it with your life because that peace will be sacred. It will be your beacon of light that you'll be able to cling too when the waters get rough. I have no idea why I'm writing my thoughts down but here is to a new week!

Better late than never
Growing up our family was always the one that was a decade behind everyone. Everyone had the internet... we didn't even own a computer...my Grandma showed us how to use juno e-mail for the first time. People were listening to cassettes...we still had 8 tracks and laser disks. Everyone had graduated to the Super NES ...we just got the original Nintendo console...you know the one where when the cassettes were being quirky you'd blow on game to get it to work again. You know you're old when your daughter sees a vinyl for the first time and she asks why the cd is so BIG! So it's no big surprise that for years I haven't had text nor had I ever sent a text in my life time. I'm proud to say we have 'almost' arrived into the 21st century. We now have text and I sent my first text on Saturday. I thought something magical would happen and choirs would begin to sing and the heavens would open but nope. Just another day. Thanks Al by the way for texting back so quick or I would've wondered all night if I had done it right. Now just to get with the times and invest in a smart phone. Baby steps...baby steps.
