Food and smells!

For some reason something that sounds good to me one minute will sound repulsing the next. I've been struggling for the past month trying to figure out what to eat. For those of you who don't know we are expecting baby number two in October and for some reason I don't remember having this much "feeling of yuckiness" with Maryn. I had my worst day on Friday...needless to say I won't be eating Corn Flakes any time soon.

I think Maryn has finally caught on that Mommy has a baby in her tummy. She usually never shares her treats with me and today I asked her if I could have an M&M. She said no BUT the baby can have one and gave me one to eat for the baby. So all day she has been giving me jelly beans and M&M's letting me know that I needed to eat them so the candy could get to the baby in my tummy. I'm going to take her to my next appointment so she can hear the heartbeat.

Matt has been very sweet and understanding while I was laid up on Friday and Saturday. I made mention that he is so much nicer when I'm pregnant and he suggested that means I should be pregnant all the time. I opted out on that suggestion. Although I did get breakfast this morning so maybe I need to reconsider.

Foods that are in Favor

French Fries
Tator Tots
Baked Potatoes
Chicken Soft Tacos
Spaghetti
Pasta
mashed potatoes
BLT's
Pizza
(all these carbs are going to kill me)

Foods that are banned

Turkey Sandwiches
Corn Flakes
Juice
Ice Cream
Barbecued chicken
Tuna

Smells that get to me

Tuna
Bacon grease
This lotion that Matt puts on...I might have to hide that until after October!

So that's my list! It will probably change day by day!

Maryn's First Drawing!

We had a crazy fun weekend welcoming Mom and Dad Murdock back home from Nigeria. Maryn had tons of fun with her cousins and asked to go home with her Aunt Julie. For some reason she seems to like her Aunts and Uncles a lot more than Mom and Dad. On Sunday Mom and Dad gave their homecoming talks in church and did a wonderful job. I'm going to miss checking my e-mail every Sunday with all the experiences they would share with us. During the talks we were trying to keep Maryn somewhat entertained and we had given her a pen and paper to draw. I looked down and there was a face drawn on the paper. I looked at Matt and asked if he had drawn that and he said no. I was trying to figure out who had made the happy face. I looked at Maryn and asked her if she drew the happy face and she said yes, that's Uncle Sam. I asked her to draw another face and she said okay and before my eyes a face appeared on the page. I didn't even know she could do that! This time she had drawn Uncle Marc and then Maryn on the side. I was so amazed that she could draw. Before it had just been scribbles and I know I didn't teach her how to make happy faces. Matt and I were smiling and laughing. I'm so proud of her we'll share her first piece of art with everyone.

Work in Progress

Hello everyone! As you can see this is a work in progress. A few months ago my husband asked me why I didn't have a blog like everyone else. So I thought I would try and surprise him and set up our very own family blog. I had to laugh because I saw there was 32 views on the blog site and I've never told anyone I was trying to start it up. I'll let you know when I have this thing up and running for blogging!
