Just Knock

I've come a long way in the last 3 years with my song writing.  There is still a lot of people that don't know that I do it.  I'm getting more confident in telling people but it's hard.  Some people are like, oh that's nice dear and don't give it another thought.  Others are excited for me and want to listen to the stuff I have.  I've had some cool things happen in the past few months that helps me keep going.

There is a song writer's contest coming up and the deadline is on April Fools Day of all days.  I finished the song that I was working on.  I had visions of perhaps submitting it.  Now that I'm done WAYYY before the deadline I feel like Anna standing paralyzed at Elsa's castle staring at the door and Olaf is telling me knock...knock...why isn't she knocking, does she know how to knock.

The first step is always the hardest.  So I'm trying to compartmentalize this and saying it's no big deal.  And if something does come from it, I'll deal with it then.  I over think things too much and then I end up chickening out.  I have the blessing of the hubby so that makes it a little easier knowing he'll support my passion.  I have always lived by fear and it has helped me in some aspects but it's held me back in so many ways.  I'm tired of being held back by myself.  In actuality we have nothing to lose but we lose if we do nothing.  So, I'm going to shut my eyes and click the submit button and put this little gem up there hoping for the best.  Wish me luck!
