My friend Alison asked me to post this blanket that was made. So here ya go! A few weekends back we had an overnighter with the Young Women and I wanted to do something meaningful during the 12 hour period that we would be together(not sleeping of course) and my counselor suggested on tying a blanket for a very deserving gal in our ward that had a baby a few months back. Baby boy is still in the hospital but making improvements so we hope and pray for his continued success. I offered to make it if she would get the material for me and the girls tied the blanket that night.

Now, as far as the overnighter...the last girl reported to fall asleep was about 7:00 and I'm not talking about the PM time. Instead of calling it overnighter we should just to refer to it as an "All" Nighter because that's what they did. We had tons of games and acted silly all night. About 3:00 in morning(I think, or maybe it was 5:00?) they wanted to do Karaoke so they were singing songs from High School Musical.
We also played a balloon hot potato type game where they pass a balloon around and when the music stops they had to pop the balloon and do whatever was inside like do the Hokey Pokey, play leap frog around the circle or act like Brad Pitt just walked in the room. That was pretty hilarious!
We also played a story telling game. Each girl had to write down an experience that happened to them. Then they would get up in groups of 3 and the rest of the group was trying to figure out which story belonged to which girl. I am truly amazed at how these girls...and some of the leaders could make up a story when it wasn't even there experience. They had me laughing so hard.
I am so grateful to be apart of the Young Women's program. Each of the girls are so wonderful and amazing in their own right. I wish they knew what we old chicks see in them. And hope they keep making the decisions in their life that will bring continued happiness.
I have a few pictures of the night. You can tell from the pics how crazy and fun they are!
